Snorkeling and Zip-line Caribbean Adventure

First we will make our way to the crystal blue Caribbean Sea where we will gear up and embark by boat to a secluded beach for our first snorkel spot which is loaded with several varieties of colorful tropical fish. The second snorkeling stop is a reef wall where aside from the amazing coral reef formations and tropical fish, you have a chance of encountering eagle rays, nurse sharks, and even reef sharks!

After a true Caribbean style lunch, we will venture to the Unesco World Heritage site of Portobelo. Once the counting house for all the stolen gold and silver moving through the trade routes, Real Aduana de Portobelo (Royal Customs House of Portobelo) has now been converted into a small museum which we will visit. Built originally in 1630, what remains of this site is actually the 3rd rebuild of the fort after it was wiped out by Capitan Henry Morgan and his pirates, then again by the Brittish Edward Vernon. Aside from piracy and looting, there was also a large population of slaves brought here from the Caribbean islands which now make up most of the population of Portobelo and bring with it very distinct tradition and culture which is evident in every direction as you wander through this small fortress town.

Finally, we are off to our zip-line adventure in the jungle!! Get ready for a wild ride through 9 different cables through the tree-tops. After the zip-lines, finish up your day by taking a dip in the local swimming hole, or for the more adventurous try out the rope swing that drops you into the water from high above for a bit more of an adrenaline rush. For those less adventurous or just wish to relax on their vacation, grab a hammock and chill out in the shade.
